Good 3.0
It was fun to see Pacino and De Niro together in this well written crime/thriller about a sometimes irresistible desire to do the right thing for society, but independently from the law. Gerwitz adeptly leads you astray by letting your assumptions get the better of you. No matter how smart you may think you are about the plot, you may just end up being surprised by this very entertaining and suspenseful film.

Pacino and De Niro probably were able to act in this film with the difficulty of falling off a log. If you had to pick, I felt De Niro (‘Turk’) took away the limelight from the rest with his classic male bravado, New Jersey style. Pacino was much more subtle until near the end of the movie when his classic flair took center stage. A great job by Carla Gugino — who plays the muse with an edge. I would liked to have seen more from Brian Dennehy and 50 Cent.

Good 3.0
Starting off with an off-beat made-for-TV feeling introduction, there were aspects of the filming style that didn’t sit right with me at first, but in the end ended up being brilliant — such as leading you to think you knew the answers only to pull complete twists later on.
