  2. Good 3.0

What would you do, if you find out that your daughter’s killers are spending the night at your house?

This is the big situation throughout the movie.
Well, it plot goes like this…
Emma , John , and Mari head out on vacation to their lake house. Shortly after arriving, Mari borrows the family car and drives into town to spend time with her friend Paige. While Paige works the cash register at a local store, she and Mari meet Justin who invites them both back to his hotel room to smoke some weed. While the three are hanging out in the hotel room, Krug (Justin’s father), Francis (Justin’s uncle), and Sadie (Krug’s girlfriend) arrive.
Krug shows Justin a local newspaper that has Krug’s and Sadie’s pictures on the front page, which explains how Sadie and Francis broke Krug out of police custody and killed the two officers that were transporting him. Believing it too risky to let Paige and Mari go, Krug kidnaps them and uses their vehicle to leave town. While Krug searches for the highway, Mari convinces him to take a road that leads him to her parents lake house; Mari then attempts to jump out of the vehicle, but the ensuing fight amongst all the passengers causes Krug to crash into a tree. Frustrated by Mari’s attempts to escape, Sadie and Francis proceed to beat Mari as she crawls away from the wreckage. Krug attempts to teach his son to “be a man” by forcing him into raping Mari. When Justin refuses Krug decides to rape Mari. Paige begins insulting him to get him to stop, which causes Krug to stab Paige in the stomach twice. As Mari watches Paige bleed to death she is raped by Krug. Afterward, Mari musters enough strength to escape the group and make it to the lake so that she can swim to safety. Before she can swim far enough Krug shoots her in the back, leaving her to bleed out in the lake.
A storm forces Krug and his gang to seek refuge with John and Emma, whose home is nearby. When John and Emma find Mari, barely alive, on their porch, they realize that the people who did this to Mari are in their home. As they try and find the key to their boat, so that they can take Mari to the hospital, they decide to get revenge.

As many should know, this is a remake of the 1979 Wes Craven classic, with the same title. And although the basic premise was very faithful to it’s source, there are plenty of changes.
Both movies have their own style, so this movie will have it’s different opinions.

This movie is more focused on the gore and eerie factor. Apparently everything in your house is an extremely dangerous weapon.

  3. OK 2.5

The acting in this movie is pretty standard compared to other movies of it’s genre.
Even though i must point out the 2 actors that made me sit throughout the movie.

First is Tony Goldwyn, for portraying Mari’s father. There was something that made appreciate his character more than the others.

And second is Garret Dillahunt, for portraying Krug. He really made me feel that i should never be around a person like him.

  4. Male Stars OK 2.5
  5. Female Stars OK 2.5
  6. Female Costars OK 2.5
  7. Male Costars OK 2.5
  8. OK 2.5

For me… this movie felt a little empty when all the violence begins.
    Do you like gore?
Watch this movie. it has some good stuff that other movies don’t have.
But if you have a chance to see the original, i really recommend you to watch it.

  9. Direction OK 2.5
  10. Play OK 2.5
  11. Music OK 2.5
  12. Visuals OK 2.5
  13. Content
  14. Horrid 4.0

This movie is pretty intense in this aspect.

  15. Sex Lewd 4.0

there are some breast showing throughout the movie. But if it wasn’t for the rape scene i would’ve gave this section a lower rating.

  16. Violence Savage 4.1

This movie is bloody. Trust me.

  17. Rudeness Nasty 4.0

Thanks to Kurg, we have this section alive.
He is a mother fu—-ng evil guy

  18. Glib 1.6

This movie is pretty much based in a real life situation. But if it wasn’t for the end, (the death of kurg), this movie would’ve been more based on reality. But hey, hollywood needs its money shot, right?

  19. Circumstantial Surreal 2.3

Just imagining all of these situations happening in real life, is quite unbelievable. But there still is a chance.

  20. Biological Natural 1.0
  21. Physical Glib 1.6
