Really Great 4.5
An amazing documentary that chronicles the lives of Calcutta children born of women sex workers. Worthy of its Oscar, this film exposes the fact that these children are wise beyond their years and know exactly the dynamic that affects them. Beyond the normal documentary, the children are exposed to photgraphy as a means of expression, and as they are being filmed, they film as well — and the combination is memorable. Add to all this, human joy, drama, despair and hope — and you’ve got one heck of a movie that is both informative as it is uplifting.

Perfect 5.0
The vibrancy of all the kids is genuine. Although you can’t exactly call it acting, it is uncanny how the film-makers were able to bring this out so well.

Really Great 4.5
Zana Briski and Ross Kauffman pull off a masterpiece with this one. Mixing the film with the filmed is a unique approach that brings out the essense of the real-life characters. An amazing array of film and childhood expression, with the backdrop of color, activity, and drama in an exotic India is not something you’ll soon forget
