Great 4.0
How would you deal with your son dying at the hand of a hit and run driver? What if you were the driver? This is a riveting movie and powerful drama that probes deep in to the personal havoc that plauges both those who cause pain as well as those who suffer as a result of it. The movie starts with tragedy and takes us on a journey to resolution.

Really Great 4.5
Joaquin Pheonix (Ethan) and Mark Ruffalo (Dwight) are the main characters. There were a few overly dramatic and/or not-quite-right reactions to scenarios, but in general Joaquin and Mark were excellent at portraying good guys that get really hurt on the inside.

Very Good 3.5
The story line is a perfect setup, but this film is all about the character study, and the movie helps you dive deeper in to the personalities of Ethan the victim’s father and Dwight the good man who made a tragic mistake. It is a refreshing change to focus more on the men for once in a drama like this.
