Great 4.0
What happens when you drop an Egyptian band in the middle-of-knowhere Israel? This movie gives you a humorous view on what might. I loved the comedy, which as Wick mentions, was completely deadpan and a refreshing change. Also refreshing was the non heavy-handed approach to the politics. All in all, very enjoyable, light, entertaining, and funny.

Great 4.0
The acting was excellent, both because of the quality of the actors themselves, but also because of the casting — somehow they chose the perfect pairings of Egyptian band members to Israeli hosts.

Really Great 4.5
So many funny scenes to choose from: the romance direction in a roller rink, the trip out with the conservative bandleader and the energetic woman host, the stoic marching through the desert outpost, singing Chet Baker’s “My Funny Valentine” to the woman behind the ticket counter…. too many to count. But there was also balance and more serious meaning as well. Each touched by the other in a deeper way.

Although the situation in of itself wasn’t very realistic, the interactions that happened in this film are somehow plausible. Perhaps wishful thinking — but go with it.
