   Good 3.0

   I was excited to see a movie about Football’s early years, a time when professional football wasn’t taken seriously, and many teams were in danger of failing. Slapstick ruled the day, fights ended up in closer friendships, Clooney uses the period as a significant source of the comedy, and Randy Neuman’s music was the perfect accompanyment. Jimmy ‘Dodge’ Connelly (Clooney) pulls his team “the Bulldogs” back from bankruptsy in part convincing by Carter Rutherford (John Krasinski) to quit his sure-bet college attendance to join the team. Zellweger and Clooney definitely click in this film. Although Clooney definitely brought his star power, and Krasinski pulled his weight, I felt Zellweger star shined the brightest. She completely got in to the 20’s slapstick blonde character, and was clearly having fun doing it. Despite plenty of negative reviews, I felt the movie fun, feel-good, entertaining, and defintely worth seeing.
