What happens when two thugs go to a sleepy Belgian town? In Bruges is a great movie that shows you. Surprisingly funny even during bouts of drama and violence, Colin Farrell (“Ray”) and Brendan Gleeson (“Ken”) get involved in twisting encounters with the locals, including a drug-dealing woman, a midget, a kind pregnant hostess, an intense armenian gun dealer — and you get the idea of the craziness that ensues. A colorful use of bad language throughout the movie makes the dialog quite hilarious. Ralph Fiennes is perfect as “Harry”, the driven bad-guy boss who comes in to clean the situation yet. The story is clever, the surroundings unique, the dialog witty and wacky — there is a lot to like about this very enjoyable and humorous movie – which comes complete with a dramatic and impactful ending.

Great review Finks.

I’ve avoided this movie because the trailer was lame, and then it seemed like it played before half a dozen other movies, so I got really good and sick of it.

But now I’m thinking I should check it out.
