Perfect 5.0
The is by far the best Cohen Brothers movie ever made and ranks in the top 5 greatest comedies of all time. This film has incredible replay value with unforgettable characters that work well on screen as realistic personality types that some of us can match to people in the real world. And for a film criticized for its excessive amount of F bombs the story’s ingenuities run rampant throughout.

Really Great 4.5
This makes the film. The actors are completely believable and true to their characters. In most films it is difficult to believe the actors are the characters they portray, especially the more famous the actor. In this film everybody plays their role appropriately to the point of associating them with the actor in other roles. Jeff Bridges is forever branded as “The Dude”, John Goodman as Walter, Steve Buscemi as Donnie, etc.

Male Stars Perfect 5.0
-
Female Stars Perfect 5.0
On another note Julianne Moore delivered the best acting job of her career.
-
Female Costars Really Great 4.5
Perhaps I’m being overly critical of Tara Reid, but she didn’t knock this one out of the park. Se did a great job with the few lines that she had, but some of it seemed forced and less believable then it could have been.

Male Costars Perfect 5.0

Perfect 5.0
High end, but didn’t overspend for the sake of fulfilling budget requirements set by the studio. This helps offer superb realism without the overuse of CG.
-
Direction Perfect 5.0
Again the Best the Cohen Brothers have made so far. And that’s saying a lot considering what’s under their belts: Raising Arizona, The Hudsucker Proxy, Fargo, Oh, Brother Where Art Thou?, Ladykillers, and their most recent Acadamy Award dominator No Country For Old Men.

Play Perfect 5.0
Engaging Lunacy.

Risqué 2.3

Sex Titillating 2.1
Sexual suggestions. Porn Star as profession present. That’s about it.
-
Violence Fierce 1.7
-
Rudeness Profane 3.1
The F word is said over 200 times, don’t really notice unless you’re looking for it. For comparison sake, Pulp Fiction forced profanity more then The Big Lebowski did.
