  1. Quality
  2. Perfect 5.0

Just a great all around interesting, funny, and uplifting movie. The snippet of the lives of the British monarchy during a very interesting time in history intrigues you, then pure interest in what will happen with George VI’s stammering problem holds you. The movie builds in interest as intrigue in both the stammering solution and monarchy goings on until finally the ending packs a punch as you anticipate and experience the results of all that work. Wonderful acting that infuses history, drama, and humor makes for an outstanding cinema experience.

  3. Perfect 5.0

Colin Firth is magnificent at the burgeoning monarch with deep seated issues with a sense of humor, Helena Bonham Carter surprises in a refreshingly serious role with a sarcastic twist as she contrasts with the rest of the regal crew, and Geoffrey Rush is outstanding as well.

  4. Male Stars Perfect 5.0
  5. Female Stars Perfect 5.0
  6. Female Costars Perfect 5.0
  7. Male Costars Perfect 5.0
  8. Really Great 4.5

The story and time in history was the foundation for this movie’s success. I mean, you can’t get much more interesting. Add to that some world class acting, and you’ve got a clear winner.

Regarding BigdaddyDave’s Review
“The use of constrained spaces (cramped rooms, narrow halls), combined with an occasional use of fisheye lenses helped enhance the subliminal feeling of feeling trapped.”

Perceptive commentary BDD.

Great review Bri. Excellent choice.

Interesting that you gave it Perfect Acting and Really Great Film, while I gave it Really Great Acting and Perfect Film. No matter, we both rounded up to overall Perfect. Rare.
