Very Good 3.5
If you take away the novelty and hype surrounding the release of this movie, it’s only a little bit more than your typical Seth Rogen fare (which admittedly strongly appeals to my inner 20-something throwback sensibilities). You get a lot of what you’d expect – sans a lot of the drug references. Some of my favorites are the hilarity of the ‘Dane Stark’ interviews starting with Rob Lowe (who’s hair is revealed to be taint-like), and Eminem who reveals he is a homosexual, etc. Then there’s the macabre sexual tension between Seth and Diana Bang. The major kudos goes to Randall Park’s Kim Jong-Un, who (besides the expected assassination deserving evilness), is simply great as the Katy Perry fun-loving dictator. What’s different than expected is the muted nature of some of the humor. One might say this movie is less funny, but I view it has the need to pay more attention this time around. The story-line is a little flat and the ending is a bit anticlimactic, but if you pay attention, you’ll get your money’s worth of LOL moments.

Very Good 3.5
Seth Rogen and James Franco make a great pairing. I think the two of them should stick with it.
