  1. Quality
  2. Great 4.0

As Wick pointed out in his review, DOS is all about the Elves – despite considerable participation from the Dwarves and the Dragon. Orlando Bloom (Legolas) and Evangeline Lilly (Tauriel) tower (literally and figuratively) above the rest. Even the not-quite-Kingly Richard Armitage (Thorin Oakenshield). Tons of action that you’ve come to expect from Peter Jackson, and I think even more consistent action in DOS which easily gets you through the long movie. Add to that, the return of your favorite hobbit Martin Freeman (Bilbo Baggins) and Ian McKellen’s (Gandalf) keep things warmly familiar. The biggest complaint I have about this series in general is splitting a small-ish book in to 3 movies – but my annoyance is subsiding as the enjoyment of being immersed on Tolkein takes over.
